Family Reading Night
Friday, March 9th 2018 - 6:15pm-8:00pm
Join us Friday night for the grand finale of our week-long celebration of reading!
Family Reading Night is an opportunity for students to explore genres of writing
and information resources as a way to map and achieve their goals. The gym will be set up with different reading stations hosted by PV "upper-classmen" (i.e. 5th & 6th graders).
Be sure to RSVP by Wednesday, March 9th and tell us how many people will be attending.
This year's event will have a "Sleepover" feel to it! Students are encvouraged to wear their PJs and bring a pillow/blanket or sleeping bag. In addition, milk and cookies will be provided as the students rotate through their stations.
This year's Family Reading Night will feature
special guest author Tom Ryan.
Tom grew up near Wausau and studied
Journalism and reverse psychology at
UW-Madison. Tom currently lives in the
Milwaukee area with his wife and two sons -
and he is a member of the Society of
Children's Book Writers & Illustrators.
Tom's debut picture book is titled
"Peeve, My Parent's' Pet."
In this story, a young boy is determined to
hunt down Peeve, the mysterious and
mischievous pet his parents talk about so often. Although his parents' pet is apparently quite small, Peeve certainly causes a lot of trouble. Peeve leaves chocolate finger prints on the piano, toys all over the house, water on the bathroom floor, mud on the carpet, and crumbs on the couch.
Perfect for ages 3-9, you can pick up your copy and have it autographed by the author!
